PB Fintech reported a 43% year-on-year rise in consolidated profit after tax to Rs 192 crore for the September quarter of FY27, while operating revenue grew 35% to Rs 2,178 crore. The rounded figures come from the company's October 30 results release. For India's insurance and credit marketplace sector, the quarter shows revenue growth translating into a stronger bottom line.
The company operates Policybazaar and Paisabazaar. Total insurance premium reached Rs 9,385 crore in Q2 FY27, up 38% year on year. New protection premium, which covers health and term insurance, grew 42%. Insurance premium measures the value of policies sold through the platform; it is not PB Fintech's operating revenue.
Renewals are another part of the growth story. Core renewal and trail revenue on a rolling 12-month basis reached Rs 1,097 crore, compared with Rs 774 crore in the equivalent prior-year period, a rise of about 42%. That measure covers a different period from the quarterly revenue and profit figures and should not be compared with them as if they were interchangeable.
The company said its consolidated PAT margin rose from 8% to 9% year on year. Its earnings presentation separately reported adjusted EBITDA of Rs 216 crore. PAT and adjusted EBITDA are different profit measures, so the latter should not be read as net profit.
For founders and investors tracking platform businesses, the useful question is whether growth, recurring revenue and profitability improve together. PB Fintech's quarter offers a case study in that combination, but one quarter does not establish a permanent growth rate or guarantee future returns. This report describes company results, not an investment recommendation.
