Jio Platforms reported consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 40,475 crore for the September quarter of FY27, up 11.4% from Rs 36,332 crore a year earlier. The company announced the results on October 30. The revenue figure measures operations; the company's separately reported gross revenue was Rs 47,485 crore and should not be substituted for it.

EBITDA rose 16.6% year-on-year to Rs 21,879 crore, while the EBITDA margin increased by 250 basis points to 54.1%, according to Jio's media release. The release reports total profit after tax of Rs 8,387 crore, up 13.7%. Several news reports cite Rs 8,389 crore as profit attributable to owners. These are different accounting lines, so the figures should not be treated as interchangeable.

Jio's subscriber base reached 542.4 million at the end of September, with 9.1 million net additions during the quarter. The company also crossed 300 million 5G subscribers and 30 million fixed-broadband subscribers. It said 5G accounted for nearly 56% of total wireless data traffic. These are company-reported operating metrics, not independent measures of customer satisfaction or profitability.

Monthly average revenue per user rose to Rs 218.8 from Rs 211.4 a year earlier and Rs 215.6 in the June quarter. Average monthly data consumption reached 44.2 GB per user. Business Standard and The Economic Times linked the results to subscriber additions, a better customer mix and digital services. Jio's release reports 11% growth in connectivity revenue and 16% growth in digital services.

FundForge Insight: a large network becomes a stronger business when customer growth translates into higher revenue per user, durable margins and cash generation after investment. The useful follow-through is how digital services, broadband adoption and network spending affect those measures over time. One quarter's scale or a successful listing does not by itself establish the value of the stock.
