Rupeek Eyes $50 Million to Accelerate India's Digital Gold Lending Business

India's fintech ecosystem continues to evolve, and digital lending remains one of its fastest-growing segments. Rupeek, the Bengaluru-based gold loan startup, is reportedly planning to raise $50 million in fresh funding to accelerate its next phase of growth.

Founded in 2015 by Sumit Maniyar, Rupeek introduced a branchless, technology-driven approach to gold-backed lending. Instead of relying on traditional bank visits, customers can access loans through a digital platform with simplified onboarding, gold evaluation, and faster disbursement.

According to reports, the company is exploring a new funding round at a valuation higher than its most recent financing, supported by improving financial performance and continued momentum in its core business.

The fresh capital is expected to strengthen Rupeek's technology infrastructure, expand lending operations, enhance customer experience, and reinforce its position in India's growing digital lending market.

The FundForge Take

Rupeek demonstrates how technology can modernize even one of India's oldest financial products. By making gold loans faster, more transparent, and digitally accessible, the company is helping expand financial inclusion while attracting continued investor interest.
