Oracle is expanding its partnership with OpenAI to put ChatGPT directly inside everyday business software. Announced at the Oracle AI World event in Las Vegas on 26-27 October 2026, the centrepiece is Oracle AI Workspace, a platform that connects OpenAI's models, including ChatGPT and Codex, with Oracle NetSuite, Oracle Fusion Applications and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Oracle, India Today, Futurum Group and CNBC all reported the announcements.
Instead of jumping between programs, employees can tell ChatGPT what they want to achieve. The AI tracks down the right company data, completes approved workflows and takes action across Oracle systems. Oracle says this happens strictly within a company's existing approval processes, access controls and data rules. Analyst firm Futurum notes Oracle is effectively handing part of the user experience to a third-party assistant while betting that value sits in governed execution.
Two more tools were announced. AI Security Mesh is a managed service that uses OpenAI's cybersecurity models to hunt for weaknesses in company networks before attackers can exploit them, across OCI, other clouds and local servers, with customers controlling what gets tested. App Composer lets employees build internal apps with no coding experience: Codex writes the software and Oracle handles deployment on OCI.
For smaller companies, Oracle launched the AI SMB Bundle: ChatGPT Business, Codex, AI Workspace and NetSuite QuickStart for core operations like invoicing and cash flow, plus up to $12,000 in yearly Oracle cloud credits for eligible businesses. Oracle CEO Clay Magouyrk said the collaboration merges OpenAI's AI capabilities with Oracle's enterprise infrastructure. Pricing and release dates for most of the individual products have not been announced.
Business Insight: enterprise AI is shifting from a separate tool to the front door of business software, and bundled credits put the same stack within reach of startups.
