FuriosaAI, a Seoul-based AI chip startup, has raised $620 million in a Series D round at a $2.9 billion post-money valuation. The company announced the round on 28 October 2026; Bloomberg, Reuters and SiliconANGLE also reported it. Bloomberg says the valuation roughly quadrupled.
FuriosaAI builds RNGD, an accelerator for AI inference - running trained models in production rather than training them. The company says RNGD entered mass production in January 2026, that it will produce 20,000 cards this year, and that it has secured the memory and fab capacity to more than double output in 2027.
The investor list mixes global and Korean backers. New participants include Infinitum, Jericho Capital, QUDA Capital and Cisco Investments, and Korea's National Growth Fund committed about $280 million. NAVER Ventures, DSC Investment, KDB Capital and Kakao Investment also took part.
The pitch is efficiency: FuriosaAI says its 180-watt RNGD card matches Nvidia's RTX PRO 6000 throughput at the same card count and serves twice as many users per kilowatt. These are the company's own figures, not independent benchmarks. Samsung SDS has launched an NPU cloud service on RNGD, and LG Group companies are deploying it.
