As financial institutions accelerate digital transformation, legacy banking systems have become a major bottleneck. Mambu solved this challenge by offering a cloud-native banking platform that allows banks, fintechs, lenders, and financial institutions to rapidly launch and scale modern financial products. Today, Mambu serves more than 260 customers across 65+ countries and is recognized as one of the world's leading banking technology unicorns.

The Story

Founded in 2011 by Eugene Danilkis and Kosta PericMambu set out to modernize core banking by replacing outdated legacy systems with a flexible, cloud-native Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.

Unlike traditional banking software that often requires years to deploy, Mambu enables financial institutions to launch digital banks, lending platforms, deposit products, and payment solutions significantly faster through its modular architecture and API-first approach.

Over the years, Mambu has partnered with global banks, fintech companies, telecom operators, and digital lenders, helping them innovate without rebuilding their entire technology stack. Its cloud-based infrastructure supports rapid product development, scalability, regulatory flexibility, and continuous innovation.

In 2021, Mambu raised €235 million in a funding round led by EQT Growth, with participation from TCV, Arena Holdings, Bessemer Venture Partners, Acton Capital, and Runa Capital. The investment valued the company at €4.9 billion, making it one of Europe's largest fintech unicorns.

Today, Mambu continues to power digital banking transformation worldwide, supporting financial institutions in delivering faster, smarter, and more customer-centric banking experiences.

The FundForge Take

Mambu proves that the future of banking isn't about building new banks from scratch—it's about giving existing institutions the technology to innovate faster. By modernizing core banking infrastructure, Mambu has become a foundational player in the global fintech ecosystem.
