Collective, the AI-native financial operating system for one-person businesses, announced $100 million in new funding on October 29, 2026: a $40 million Series B co-led by General Catalyst, QED Investors and Gradient Ventures, plus a $60 million customer-acquisition facility from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund. The raise matters because America's more than 30 million solo businesses are scaling faster than ever, yet most still run their back office on stitched-together software and traditional accountants.
Joining the Series B were Intuit Ventures, FT Partners and SemperVirens. The separate $60 million facility is not equity: it funds customer acquisition and is repaid from the revenue those new customers generate, a structure General Catalyst's CVF has used with companies such as Otter.ai, Relay and Finom. Collective will put the capital toward product development in banking and insurance.
Collective offers business setup, accounting, invoicing, payroll, taxes, business and health insurance, and support through a single membership, with AI doing much of the work in the background. The company says its AI already handles about half of support tickets while maintaining a 4.5-star satisfaction rating. It acquired AI accounting startup Open Ledger in April 2026 and launched an insurance centre in July 2026.
The company reports 127% year-on-year growth and an estimated $350 million in tax savings for members, with top earners saving as much as $40,000 a year; it has not disclosed revenue or customer counts. Stripe data shows the number of solo founders earning more than $1 million a year doubled between 2023 and 2025, the tailwind Collective is riding.
Co-founder and CEO Hooman Radfar previously co-founded AddThis, which Oracle acquired for around $200 million. He started Collective in September 2020 after watching the S-corp tax decision save his father hundreds of thousands of dollars that his mother, also a physician, never captured. Collective raised an $8.65 million seed in 2020, a $20 million Series A in 2021 and $50 million in July 2023.
FundForge Insight: the structure of this round is as notable as its size. Pairing venture equity with a repayable growth facility lets Collective spend aggressively on acquiring customers without selling more of the company, a template more capital-efficient startups are likely to copy.
